What is the difference between cold rolled and hot rolled of stainless steel plate
Cold rolled and hot rolled of stainless steel plate are two different sheet metal processing processes, and there are the following differences between them.
First, the processing temperature is different. Cold rolled is a processing process carried out at room temperature, while hot rolled is a processing process carried out at high temperatures. Under normal circumstances, the processing temperature of cold-rolled steel plates is carried out at normal temperature (usually 20°C), while hot rolled is to heat the billet at high temperature (usually more than 1000°C) before processing.
Second, the material performance is different. Due to different processing temperatures, the properties of cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless steel sheets are also different. The hot rolled process will make the steel sheet have better ductility and plasticity, and the cold rolled can get higher hardness and strength. This is also the reason why cold-rolled steel plates are widely used in industrial manufacturing, machinery parts, ships and chemicals.

Three, the surface quality is different. The surface quality of hot and cold rolled is also different. The surface of the cold-rolled steel plate is relatively flat, and there is no obvious oxidation and rust, while hot rolled will produce oxidation and rust on the surface. Therefore, in some special occasions, the hot rolled steel plate needs to be subsequent surface treatment in order to obtain good surface quality.
Fourth, the processing cost is different. The processing cost of hot rolled is higher than that of cold rolled, because it requires heating the billet and consumes more energy. However, hot rolled processing speed is fast, suitable for mass production; The cold rolled processing speed is slow, which is suitable for the production of stainless steel plates with high precision requirements.

In general, the processing technology of cold rolled and hot rolled has its advantages and disadvantages, and the suitable processing technology should be selected according to the specific needs.
